History

The Department of Information Technology was established in the year 2000 at Thalassery Campus, Palayad. The Department started 2-year Master of Computer Science programme in the year 2000, which was among the first such programme under Open-Source platform.

In the year 2002, MCA programme was launched by the Department by considering the industrial needs.

The Department started 3-year MCA programme in the year 2002 and 2-year Lateral Entry MCA programme in 2015to furnish the candidate to do the real-time jobs linked with Information Technology and Computer Application. The Department offers MPhil and Ph.D. programmes with the vision to spawn quality researchers and high-impact interdisciplinary research.
