History

The Department of Hindi came in to existence at Dr. P K Rajan Memorial Campus at Nileshwaram in the year 2008 with the noble aim of equipping the students of non-Hindi speaking region to gain employment anywhere in India and abroad by learning the effortless use of Hindi Language and Literature. The Department provides opportunity for the study of Master’s Degree in Hindi. Degree Holders in Hindi and those who passed degree with second language Hindi are admitted to the P G Programme. This is a research department of the University and at present there are three full time scholars and one part time scholar doing their research in the department. Many research scholars from neighbouring centers and departments benefit from the Department library for reference for their research.

At present four teachers are working in the department as Faculty members, including the Head of the Department conducts International and National seminars, workshops, lecture series and other academic activities on a regular basis. The sanctioned student’s strength of the department is twenty five in each M.A batch.
