History

The Department of Environmental Studies came in to existence in June 2008 as a centre of learning in the frontier areas of Environmental sciences at Swami Ananthatheertha campus, Payyanur. Dr. K.P Joy was the First Course Director of the Department. During the initial time, the Department had functioned in the space provided for the Department of Chemistry, Physics and Geography at Payyanur campus. Later, the Department shifted to Mangattuparamba campus on December 2015. Dr. Khaleel Chovva, Dr. Beebi Razeena etc were the other former Course Directors of the Department. Since May 2016,Mr. Manoj K, appointed as Asst. Professor in the Department has taken charge as the Head of the Department Since May 2016, Mr. Manoj K, appointed as Asst.
