Prior to joining Kannur University in July 2020, Dr.Nirmal Roy V.P worked with the Indian Institute for Human Settlements Bengaluru as an External Consultant. He completed his PhD Thesis (2019) titled ‘Financialisation of Land and Implications: The Case of Land Markets in Kerala’ from Madras Institute of Development Studies Chennai (University of Madras). He was also affiliated to the Kerala State Planning Board (2015-2019) as a Research Assistant and Consultant (2010). He has also completed MPhil in Applied Economics (2005-07) from Centre for Development Studies Thiruvananthapuram (affiliated to JNU New Delhi). He completed MA Economics (2003-05) from Government College Kasaragod.
