History

The School of Development Studies earlier known as Department of Applied Economics has started its functioning with effect from August 2001. The aim of the school is to impart quality education and research in Economics in an interdisciplinary and application oriented manner. The curriculum and course content has been designed in such a way as to incorporate latest development in the subject. The Department offers MA in Applied Economics and Ph.D. in Economics. The department changed its name to Department of Economics in 2018.
